The Order of the Grey, founded in ancient times in a land far away from
Cosrin by grey elven mages, served to protect and increase the sovereignty
of the elven race in general and especially that of the grey elves. The
order believed in the superiority of the elven race being long lived and
capable to wield powerful magic. The order strived to keep the shorter
lived but more agressive humanoid races in their struggle for power in
check, balancing the forces of "evil" and "good" thus ensuring that the
elven race had its time and freedom to flourish and study the transcendant
mysteries of the world.
With Arcadain, Infant of the house of Alandar reaching the rank of an Inner
Circle Magi in the Mages Guild, he decided to follow the path of his
ancestors and founded the "Order of the Grey" Clan to serve this purpose in
the realms that are now his home.
In more recent times, there has been less empashis on the protection of the
Elven race, since they our a flourishing race, and more on the Balance of
the land. Each being has to be judged by its deeds and not by it's race.
This is also true of Class and alignment. The Order of the Grey is a small
Clan often enjoying the peace of inactivity, yet ready to spring into
action when necessity requires.
