Welcome to The Fighter's Guild of
Legends Of Cosrin! Here are
some basic instructions, suggestions and tips that'll make your Guild
life easier.
Guild notices are the basic way the Guild
leadership keeps us informed on Guild matters. It's always a good idea
to check them <type
GNOTICES>
whenever you enter the lands.
Other good commands to know include
Guildshout <type
GSH, then your
message>. Only the members of the Fighters' Guild will hear your
shout. Mind your manners and tag your shout with your name, as the only
ones who can see who's actually shouting are the Guild officers.
Guild Stats <type
GS>,
shows you who the Guild officers are, how much is in the treasury, if
there's a current vote or issue that needs your attention. Guild Stats
also shows how much you're tithing.
Typing <Help Guildcommands>
will give you a list of available commands.
Speaking of guild tithing, it's a good
idea to constantly tithe to the Guild. We recommend that there never be
more than a two or three-level gap between your land level and your
guild level. There are several portals in the guild where you need to
be a certain level to access more training and learn skills and if you
neglect guild tithing, you'll find yourself at some point with a pile
of build points to spend on skills.and nowhere to learn the skills.
At guild level 20, you may join a
subguild: Knights, Barbarians or Rangers. Much more training, as well
as better weaponry, armor and armor-making tools are available in the
Subguilds, which are located due east of the main Guild Hall.
Here's a few basic do's and don'ts.
DO buy a Fighters'
Guild ring every time you ring back to the Guild. There's nothing worse
than being swarmed or in trouble and finding out you forgot to wear a
ring. Most good fighters make this a habit and buy a new ring the first
thing they do when re-entering the Guild. In a pinch, (like when you'
re trapped in a strange room with no exits, or when you're stunned and
swarmed) you might ask a Guild officer to Guildsummon you to the Guild,
but don't count it saving your skin.
IF you can
find an official to do this, they might not make it back to the Guild
Hall on time, and you must might pass on to the next realm anyway.
<G>
Guild titles (Suffixes and Prefixes) are
available to you at guild level 20, and given to you by your Guild
Master. DON'T ask your GM to "think of a good name
for me." It's your job, not theirs! Give some thought to your title or
suffix. It cannot be over 19 characters (including spaces and
colours(as 2 Chars)) in length, and should reflect some aspect of your
role-playing personality.
Roleplay is very important in Legends Of
Cosrin; much more so than most other lands.
DO try
to stay in character, particularly when you're shouting or using
Guildshouts. If you wish to speak OOC (Out of Character) use the Chat
command.
DO learn your basic
weapon skills and defensive/offensive skills first. It may be tempting
to learn how to make armour or weapons right away, but learning those
skills should be reserved for the time
AFTER you
have learned how to fight properly. Dodging is recommended, as is
getting as much training with your basic weapon. Learning all the
Physical Training you can early on is a good strategy, and Spell
Resistance helps keep you from being stunned. You should also study
Multiple Attacks, Warfare, Called Shot and finally, Stunning Blow.
Another good basic skill is riding, so you can buy and use our good
guild mounts.
There's much good information on the
Guild history, our charter, and some basic fighting strategies on this,
our official Fighters' Guild home page. We suggest you read it over
when you have time.
This page also links you to the official
Legends Of Cosrin
Message Boards.
Here, you can find postings on the
Fighter's Guild as well as other In-character and Out-
of-Character-topics. We suggest that you check these boards every few
days to see what's happening in Legends of Cosrin in general, and
YOUR
guild in particular.
DO feel free to ask
any Mentor, Path Leader or the Head Mentor your questions. They're here
to help you. Please remember that they may be busy slaying Dragons or
helping someone else, so your answer may be delayed. Be patient with
them. You can also get help, of course, by asking a Guild Officer or
even another guild member. Of course, do NOT ask
anyone for help with quests, hints are fine but the pure answer is just
NOT.
