Knights’ Mentorship Program

The program is designed to develop a Squire into a Knight. The program is consistent for all paths, dark, light or grey. What follows is a description of the program and its participants:

Potential Squires must meet with the Knights' Path Leader. Often the Path Leader will ask the potential squire to complete a task, to prove not only the honest intent of the squire, but to divine the path of the squire. The interview helps the Path Leader to determine which Knight Mentor is most appropriate to each potential squire, based on path and personality.

The newly-inculcated squire will be put through a series of tests. The first test is to prove that he is strong enough to wield a weapon. Upon successful completion of this test, the squire gains the title "Young Squire".

The second test is to demonstrate his understanding of advanced defensive techniques, such as armor, resilience and elemental resistance. A successful Young Squire will be retitled "Squire".

The third test is to demonstrate the use of intermediate fighting techniques, as well as the use of enchantments and other available resources. Passing this test will advance the Squire's title to "Elder Squire".

The final test, the test of Knighthood, is intended to clearly prove the worth of the squire. This task will demonstrate, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the knight has internalized all previous lessons, as well as mastered the most advanced fighting techniques. This test will require power, strategy, resilience, and above all else, intelligent preparation. A successful Elder Squire will be knighted, gaining the title "Sir" or "Lady".

There are additional responsibilities for the squires in the program. Often, squires are called upon to serve those in need, such as low-level mages or fighters. Furthermore, Knight Mentors might ask a squire to perform additional tasks, based upon prevailing circumstances.

Squireship is a choice, and a privilege.
