Welcome to the land of Legends Of Cosrin!

When you first start a new character, you will arrive in what's fondly referred to as the "Welcome rooms". These locations are to give you the chance to familiarize yourself with the layout of Legends Of Cosrin playing screen, and experiment with a few commands.

One of the more important commands you will use, will be Say - allowing you to say something to others in your immediate vicinity. Just entering the command SAY Hi! in the little window below the big text window will allow all those in the location hear you say "Hi!".

When you begin the game, you will start with a Welcome Book held in one of your hands. Take the time to read it if you wish. While much of the information contained in the book is repeated here, it gives a brief overview of some the commands not contained in this guide. If you wish to read the Welcome Book without being in the lands, then click on the highlighted link here.

For now, pack the book away in your backpack, by typing PACK BOOK and then type LOOK. Look will describe where you are again, and where the exits are. For now, the only exit is to the North, into the game proper.

You can either click on the icon that represents North on the game screen, or you can type in N or NORTH, to move yourself north. Other directions can be similarly used to move yourself about.

After having done that, you ought to find yourself outside of the Adventurers Guild, in Moorgate. The first quest you will be doing lies within, so, go north one more time.

As you enter the room, you will notice that John Ironchin is offering a quest. As stated in the game window, you may type SHOW QUESTS to review just what it is he needs. Through Legends Of Cosrin there are many quests, some obvious, like this one, and some quests which are quite cryptic, and other quests which are invisible at first glance.

As you can see, it's a quest for joining the Adventurers guild - the only guild everyone can join. Other guilds, the professional guilds, need a lot of thought before joining, since you may only join one of these in your characters lifetime. For now, follow the directions he gives, in finding the four leaf clover. Go south, and then head west as far as you can, until you find the clover. It may be lying on the floor already, or it might "pop up" as you enter.

In either case, type in GET CLOVER to pick up the item, and then return the way you came - head east until you find the way north back into the adventurers guild, and then enter once more.

Now you have the clover, all you need to do is type OFFER to offer it to the man. If you are informed that you don't have the object he desires, it means that you aren't holding it in your right hand. When doing quests, the object you need to complete it must always be held in the right hand. This is also the hand you use when making use of a weapon. You might need to use the HOLD and SWAP commands to get the clover into your right hand, before you OFFER it.
