Welcome to Legends Of Cosrin !

You have made your first step by reading the book you're holding in your hands. We have tried to make your time here as easy to enjoy as possible. This book provides you with lots of information to help you find your way around the land and get the most from the game.

The book is intended as a beginners guide so if you're already an experienced Legends Of Cosrin player you can head north and get on with playing.

When you enter the land you are placed in a single room where you can get used to the game commands.

Because of the amount of people who play Legends Of Cosrin you will find that you can get swamped with lots of lines of text. To try and curb the amount we suggest you type FLAGS and have a look at what information you are currently getting.

Legends Of Cosrin has a very extensive HELP system built into it. You will find that you can type HELP at any time to get more information.

There are hundreds of helpful files in our download area. These include basic maps and manuals. You should download these as soon as possible. 

Legends Of Cosrin is only one of a number of text based role playing games. We have particular things in our game that make it different from others. The most important is the fact we do not have 'player vs player' combat (called PvP). You will not get attacked by other players, you can do no damage to each other. Our land is one of adventure and partnership.

You have to work together, it's tough enough fighting any of the 1000 monsters without worrying about everyone who walks into your location.

You will find that our land has lots of great neat things in it. You will get the chance to ride about on different mounts, be it a war stallion, fire breathing dragon or even a broomstick.

Type HELP MOUNTS to read about them.

You should also think about adding in your own personal description for your character. You get to write exactly what people can see when they look at you.

You can change your character's description (what players see when they Examine you).Use the DESCRIPTION1 and DESCRIPTION2 commands.

Example:
Description1 Doug is a nice looking guy. He has blonde hair and
Description2 blue eyes. He seems to be quite happy and smiles at you.

In your first few visits to the land you will hear a lot about guilds. These are clubs that you can join. You are allowed to join the adventurers guild and ONE other. The adventurers guild is where you learn the basic skill and combat system of Legends Of Cosrin.

Try typing HELP GUILDS to find out about the guild system.

You can act out emotions within the land. These help you express yourself to other players. To do an action you just type in what you want to do. Try JUMP , HOP , SMILE. You will find a list of emotions (called EMOTES) by typing HELP EMOTE LIST.

If you find that an emotion is not in the list you can create your own !
