Your email address in the game must match the address you have used to register on these message boards. Your email address here on the boards is displayed when you modify your profile; it can be changed in your User Preferences. Change your email address in the lands using the email command (EMAIL [new address]). If these two addresses do not match, your vote will not be counted.
Each player with a character in the guild may vote once. If you have multiple characters in the guild, you'll probably want to have the one with the highest guild level vote. If you vote with more than one of your characters, all of your votes will be thrown out.
Your character must be registered and at least 20 years old (IC) to vote.
If the "None of the above" choice wins the election, a new election will be held. Those candidates listed on the first ballot will be disqualified from the new one.
The two people with the most nominations will be placed on the ballot. If the current GM is running for re-election, they will be added to the ballot as well.
Guild levels do not count in the nomination process: one player, one nomination.
You must be registered and guild level 15 or above to nominate someone for GM.
Self-nominations are accepted; however, in the event of a tie, self-nominations will be discarded.
As with votes, nominating with more than one of your characters will result in all of your nominations being discarded.
Any candidate involved in voter fraud of any kind - for example, ballot box stuffing - will be disqualified.
Additional restrictions may be placed on nominations or votes to prevent voter fraud. In order to avoid providing instructions on how to defraud elections, we cannot list every bit of the process here.
All regulations regarding the voting and nomination process are mandated by the Guilds Team and override guild charters, policies, and traditions where there is a conflict. In some cases this is unfortunate, and we apologize for the inconvenience and intrusion. However, it is vital that we apply the same set of rules to all guilds.
We do not divulge actual statistics involved in elections or nominations. In the past, we have experienced severe abuses of the elected officials due to thight election results. Since we are all just people playing a game, and nobody wants that kind of headache or harrasment, we do not divulge election or nomination statistics.
This process is designed to be fair and impartial, but no process is foolproof or perfect. Therefore, please address any issues or concerns in a polite manner to guilds@legendsofcosrin.com.
Thank you
