The haste spell is one of the most powerful tools at a wizard's disposal. As such, it is to be respected by all wizards, and indeed all inhabitants of the realm. The spell's power will naturally cause it to be in great demand, and wizards constantly find themselves beseiged with requests to purchase the spell. This has led to great unrest in the realm regarding a "fair" price that reflects the spell's value, while at the same time providing resonable benefit to the purchaser. As such, the following guidelines are hereby established regarding the pricing structure for cast haste.
Guildrank 26 haste: 2000 gold per cast
Guildrank 32 haste: 3000 gold per cast
Guildrank 42 haste: 4000 gold per cast
Guildrank 52 haste: 5000 gold per cast
Guildrank 62 haste: 6000 gold per cast
Guildrank 75 haste: 7000 gold per cast
Guildrank 90 haste: 8000 gold per cast
Haste will increase in price by the sum of 1000 gold pieces per increase in the level of haste scribed.
Wizards of Guildrank 42 and above have the ability to enchant rings with spells, including haste. The following guidelines are hereby established regarding the pricing structure for rings enchanted with haste.
Rings enchanted up to and including 3 charges: 2000 gold per charge
Rings enchanted with 4 or more charges: 3000 gold per charge
Ring refills: 3000 gold per charge
At times, wizards will see fit to bestow the gift of haste upon a mortal for reasons other than financial gain. These reasons are many, but may include reward for excellent service to the mage, or mutual protection in a hunting party. It is assumed that the wizard, knowing and respecting full well the awesome power of haste, will make appropriate judgement when to bestow the gift of cast haste upon a mortal free of charge.
The above guidelines represent minimum prices only. Each wizard is permitted to charge any amount over and above the guidelines, at his or her discretion.
Failure to abide by the guidelines stated above will be viewed as treason, and punished severely. The exact nature of the punishment will be determined by the guild administration, but may include the loss of levels of haste and the loss of guildranks.
