Those who have reached at least Guildrank 15 and are interested in becoming mentors should contact the Head Mentor. This first contact will begin the application process, which has several stages designed to ensure that we select Mages Mentors who are dedicated, enthusiastic, and suited in temperament to their awesome responsibilities. The first step of the process involves writing a scroll about yourself, which will be forwarded to all mentors so that they might better get to know you. The second step requires you to complete the Challenge of Knowledge, a set of questions about the Mages Guild. This may be worked on and sent back as many times as necessary until it is complete. After this point, you will have an interview with an ArchMentor or possibly the Head Mentor him- or herself. These interviews get sent to all ArchMentors and the Head Mentor. After your interview, you will be sent a Mentor's Checklist. You will be given as much time as you need to prepare a welcome for a new mage using the checklist. The last step of the application process requires you to welcome an ArchMentor or the Head Mentor as if he or she were a new mage. The ArchMentors and the Head Mentor together will then decide whether you are ready to be a Mages' Mentor.
