"Tiwansha,
Shambo, Tandi". The chants heard emanating from the tower of
the Kwon. The monks in training are praying to their gods for "Mind,
Body, Spirit". Humble by nature, helpful by cause and dangerous by
necessity, the followers of the Kwon have found it unthinkable to carry
out their service to the lands without the ability to protect those
they serve. The Busho of the Kwon (Students of the Fist) are among the
most revered combatants in all of Cosrin, yet, they are also the most
humble considering their use of such deadly skills.
The Dojang of
the Kwon focuses on Martial Arts. It focuses on those
arts as a means as well as an end, however. The teachings of the path
of the Silent Fist seek to bring unity of Mind, Body and Spirit, and a
heightened Mindfullness of the world we find ourselves in.
As the first
Kwon Mentor stated it:
The
Path of the Kwon focuses on Martial Arts and
combat. However, if that concentration does not at the same time bring
into focus the Spiritual and Philosophical aspects of our general Path
as Monks, then it would become a path without a heart and without any
nourishing life to feed back into the Guild as a whole, and the other
specific paths within that Guild....
As such--while
its practical and tactical teachings are of great
use--it is the Philosophy of the Kwon that represents its true heart.
