Manifestations of the Spirit

Once you have proven your dedication by confronting the Dark Beast and are allowed to enter the Guild’s Halls, you will find that you have been shown how to manifest a "Faint Aura" This Aura is a protective extension of your own inner essence, and can continue to grow brighter as you prove your dedication and discipline to various Tutors within our Guild. To allow it to protect you properly, WEAR it as you would a piece of body armor.

Beyond its practical benefits, this Aura is the first external concretion of your inner essence that the Guild teaches you to summon. It and those that follow should serve as constant reminders of the spirituality, dedication and discipline that are essential to being a Monk. As you advance and prove yourself in various ways, you will be given opportunities to summon other such manifestations.

The second of these will most likely be the Spiritual Mist. While such a Mist is often referred to as a Mount (and is interacted with as mounts are) it is, of course, something else, and something more. The requirements to participate in the ceremony to summon such a Mist are described in our Guild Policy. Know that sharing the knowledge of this ceremony is both a gift of the Guild to dedicated Monks, and a reminder to us all that it is from within ourselves and in cooperation with each other that we find both strength and protection. The Mist and you will assist each other well once you have bonded with it, and you will be given opportunities to strengthen and make brighter that Mist as you advance. Eventually you will find yourself able to summon one of Bronze, Silver or even Golden hue, as you prove yourself worthy.

You will also, eventually, find that you can extend some of your inner essence into a blade forged and formed specifically for you by Monk masters skilled in the ancient craft of blade-making. This blade is the Soul Katana. Beyond being one of the most unique and specially gifted weapons in the Lands, your Soul Katana is both reminder and example of what unity of, discipline of, body, mind and spirit are capable of. Treat it as such, and it will serve you well throughout your Path, whatever Path you walk.

Finally, your body itself grows more infused with the power of your inner essence as you advance and learn the ways of Spiritual Karma from the Guild Tutors. This infusion is continual and progressive, allowing you to confront and survive foes of increasing power. Where others may require a blessed or otherwise magically enhanced weapon to strike an opponent, you will find that you are able to face them with empty hands and clear mind alone.

As you experience and receive these things, always remain mindful that their use is not in the more practical and obvious benefits alone. They are gifts from the Immortals, both rewards for and reminders of the Spiritual dedication that is essential to growing as a Monk.
