Monks Guild Policy

Laws of the Land

Certain laws of the land are enforced as strictly by the guild as by the heavens themselves. The Guild Charter and Policy are enforced by both the guild and the gods. Monks caught cheating, harassing others, or otherwise breaking the policy set forth by the gods (see help policy) will be subject to correction within the guild as well as by the gods.

Selling
Learning the art of making pastes, potions, and scrolls takes much time and dedication. It is therefore requested that they are valued according to this and not only to the price of the ingredients. In particular, the pastes of vitality and spirit are extremely powerful. In order to secure the availability of the secret ingredients used for these, a minimum price has been set at 2500 gold pieces for a one charged paste. Pastes of the spirit containing three or more charges are particularly powerful, and must be sold according to the pricing rules. Selling below this price will be subject to harsh punishment. Monks are free, and indeed encouraged, to charge more than the minimum price for these items. Also, no more of either of these pastes may be sold to a group or individual than can be carried at the time. Doing so will also be subject to harsh punishment. When hunting in groups monks should be very mindful of these restrictions and should handle pastes with caution and discretion. Members of this guild may not enter into contracts concerning pastes of vitality and spirit beyond the immediate sale of these items as described here.
When a monk mixes a pigment sold within the guild with an item that is not sold within the guild, the resulting item must be sold for a minimum of 10,000 gold pieces. If all of the components of the finished item, including the pigment, are purchased within the guild there is no minimum charge.

Items

Guild items, weapons and armor in all forms, are for guild members only. Giving or selling monk items to those outside the guild is strictly prohibited. Anyone caught doing so will be subject to severe punishment by the gods and the guild. Similarly, items sold behind guild level portals are for those of the appropriate guild levels. Lastly, in regard to items, herbalism recipes and formulas for making pastes and elixirs are to be treated like personal quests and not to be distributed to others.

Mentoring

The mentor program is open to all members of the guild, both teachers and students alike, for personal growth and for teaching honestly the traditions of the guild. The Karma Points system has been created to keep track of, and reward, all personal contributions to the growth of the guild.
The three Dojangs of the guild, the Kwon, the Haikushi, and the Daisho, are open to all members of the guild to work towards the growth of the guild. The Bushi's of these Dojangs will take on projects based on the advice of the guild and all are encouraged to help the Bushi's with the completion of these tasks.

Titles

Titling will be done through the teaching/mentoring program but can also be granted for specific reasons. Each program has Path specific titles that will be granted upon completion of certain tasks. Titles may also be earned through the Karma Points Program. Also note that titles given by Heroes/Immortals will not be changed unless requested by the Hero/Immortal. Titles are always at the discretion of the Guild Officers and may be granted or removed for great feats or great ills at any time.

Mounts

There are many mounts within the guild, each with own specific benifits. These are obtained by progression, dedication and determination. The spiritual mist, is a gift of the soul and mind, and as such is to be earnt through other means. It is possible to obtain this, by showing your dedication to the guild, upon joining our fold. To do this, a monk should approach a Guild officer, and ask guidance.

Guild Summoning

Guild officers have the ability to summon members back to the guild. If you are lost or in trouble and do not have a guild ring, you may request a guild summon patiently and politely from a guild officer. The guild officer retains the right to refuse such a request. Also, do not make being guild summoned a habit; always carry a monk's guild ring with you. (And a ring of recall for a backup)

Training

The teaching of our Martial Arts, Herbalism and Spiritual Karma outside the Monastery walls is explicitly forbidden by the Charter. We have been punished in the past for our transgressions, let us honour the Divine Beings with our renewed trustworthiness.

Note: These policies were set forth by the Guild master, whose decisions are final. Any suggestions, changes, feedback, and criticism are always welcomed. May Kali grant you peace of mind, body, and soul and guide you in your quest to understand yourself and the path you must walk.
