Roof Talk

***Though the work of scribes is seldom seen as professionally done, every once in awhile one captures a moment or event that cannot be ignored. This scroll has found it's way into the collection in honour of begone days and the memories of early beginnings. The guild's history is more often at times a verbal tradition, and rare the passing days that one gets to have a sit and speak with such knowledgeable elders as Merlordd***

‘When all the guilds were expanding, there were lots of destruction and construction.’

Karli gives a quick nod.

‘Nearby houses being torn down to make room for new addition.’

Zefra gives a thoughtful "Hmm..."

‘I myself was looking into houses to try and find a fellow rogue. We were playing a game of hide and thwap.'

Merlordd laughs happily.
Karli smirks.

Merlordd says 'But regardless. I was picking open doors. This particular lock was pretty hard, because the door had been damaged...' He begins to trail off before pulling himself back in. ‘Anyway, I finally got into the door, and the inside of the house seemed ok. I poked around, and did some searching. I went up the stairs and something seemed off'

Merlordd says 'I couldn't quite place it at first, but it seemed like I wasn't in a house anymore. I looked around, and there before was someone selling things...'

Merlordd exclaims 'Intrigued I went up to them, asked where I was! Looking at me VERY strangely he replied I was in the Monks Guild. I had found a way into the Monks guild that day...'

Zefra gives a thoughtful "Hmm..."
Karli gives a quizzically shocked expression

Merlordd says 'I ventured about exploring and seeing what their guild had behind its walls, careful not to arouse any suspicion. Eventually I found myself on top of some kind of tower in their guild hall. I almost fell off from this dizzying height, slipping off the side I landed like a cat on top of the roof, ending my adventures in their guild hall. Quickly I scrambled back to the hole, but the entire building had been razed and destroyed.'

Karli snaps her fingers.

Merlordd says 'Nothing but a pile of broken beams and shattered glass...'

Karli asks 'Building house, or building guild?'
Merlordd says 'House... '

Karli nods her head at Merlordd.

Merlordd says 'Guild was still there'

Merlordd gives a quick wink.

Zefra says 'Fascinating.'
Merlordd says 'Was quite an adventure' with a quick grin.
Merlordd says 'Keep this on the quiet..'
Merlordd says 'But for a while..'
Karli listens to Merlordd intent fully.

Merlordd almost whispers, "I had a *appears to be smudged* I pinched off *appears to be smudged* But I dropped it when I fell off the darn tower.'

Karli mutters to herself the asks. 'Anyone ever find it?'

Merlordd says 'Nope. Still might be around up there, maybe washed into a gutter or some such. Was quite a while ago, but there is still a chance.'

Karli says 'If it washed anywhere over the years more then likely it's in the sewers.'

Merlordd nods before swapping his knobbly staff and his mighty staff crystal.

Zefra says 'I have a story, but you've all heard it.'

Merlordd says 'Sure Zefra' Gives a quick grin, then fiddles with the items in his hands...

Karli listens to Zefra, prodding him in the ribs.

Zefra says 'Well, the story of the Monks Items. The ones I have.'

Karli says with a smirk 'It's very rare I'm this quiet for this long. Take advantage of it while ya can.'

Zefra says 'I had a *appears to be smudged* I gave away the robes, I gave away the *more smudges* When Spin returns, I really want my ... back.'

Merlordd puts his magic quill in his herb/potion pouch before
Wielding a bit of snow and eating it.
Karli says 'IF she returns... She left no word.'
Zefra says 'She told me she'd come back this month.'
Karli says 'I hope yer right.'
Merlordd gives a quick grin and says 'I have another story..'
Merlordd gives out a little snigger.
Karli nods at Merlordd.

Merlordd says 'A long time ago... We were once all thieves. By title at least'

Merlordd says 'But a long time ago, almost every rogue would have recognized this.‘

Merlordd swaps his empty paint tin and his mighty staff crystal
Zefra ponders on the problem for a moment.
Zefra asks 'What are they?'
Karli says 'Koomi tried to stump me with that.'
Merlordd moves his empty paint tin to his right hand
Karli gives a quick grin. ‘But I do my homework'
Merlordd says 'Anyone remember the tin'
Merlordd gives a quick wink.
Karli gives a quick nod.
Merlordd says 'I sure do'
Karli says 'When I requested my paint back, that's what Koomi gave me.'
Zefra asks 'Is that what you get when you overuse your paint?'
Karli says with a smirk 'It's what you get when you use your paint period.'

Merlordd says 'Actually, a while ago your paint had charges'
Zefra gives out a large laugh.

Merlordd says 'Once they ran out'

Zefra exclaims 'Nonsense!'

Merlordd says 'The only way to get more'

Zefra says 'Silly talk.'

Merlordd says 'Was to mix this, with your kit'
Karli nods her head at Merlordd.
Merlordd says 'To get a new tin'
Karli says 'Ya had to refill it.'
Merlordd nods.
Merlordd says 'Yep. Quite often too'

Karli exclaims 'No oh... but oh!'
Zefra says 'Odd.'
Merlordd gives a quick grin.
Zefra gives a thoughtful "Hmm..."
Karli asks 'Did anyone happen to read the information the trolls left behind..?'
Merlordd removes his Wildly Blue Glowing sparkling green cloak
Merlordd sits down.
Karli says 'The trolls dropped a paper that mentioned our paint on it.'
Merlordd says 'Nope never seen it'
Karli says 'It was quite damaged I was told, but it made mention of the paint none the less.'

It is now Morning of day 21 of Weeping Skies of the year 184

Karli says 'They could be looking to remove something each of the guilds is dependant on.'
Merlordd asks 'Anyone remember these?'
Merlordd gives a quick grin.

Merlordd moves his bright green crystal to his right hand
Karli exclaims 'The crystals! That never worked!'
Merlordd laughs happily.
Karli chuckles.

Merlordd says 'They DID'
Merlordd says 'They used to work perfectly'

Karli says with a smirk 'They stopped working when the curse of Karli entered the guild.'
Zefra says 'Oh, they worked perfectly until people began using them, they're ruined if used.'
Merlordd says 'I used them for a long time Zefra'
Karli says 'I never got the chance.'
Zefra gives a quick grin.
Zefra says 'I imagine so.'
Merlordd says 'Yep..they shattered when you used them but they did work'
Zefra asks 'How did they work again?'

Merlordd says 'Well..if you had a green crystal'
Merlordd says 'And you were...say...at the pass and I was here in town. I could CRYSTAL to you and mine would shatter.'

Zefra shrieks in fear

Merlordd says 'But then I would be where you are'
Zefra says 'Sounds horrible.'
Karli lets slip a merry chuckle.

Karli Unpacks a Deadly poisoned golden sickle
Karli says 'Aqua got me this one, then a month later EVERYONE had one.'
Zefra gives out a large laugh.
Zefra starts to console Karli.
Karli says 'I'm suddenly feeling quite old.'
Merlordd asks 'Wanna feel young?'
Karli says with a smirk 'Last time I sat on the roof with Merlordd I was well poisoning.'
Merlordd says 'I'm eighty-one'
Karli says 'I'm nearly half yer age Merlordd. You were still a pup when I entered the guild.' Karli nods. 'Cuz to say you were old then is to say I'm old now.'

Merlordd asks 'I'm confused. I was a pup?'
Karli chuckles as Merlordd raises an eyebrow in her direction. 'When I entered the guild and you were GM.'
Merlordd says 'I see'
Karli says 'Because if I say you were old then, I'm calling myself old now.'
Merlordd laughs happily.
Merlordd says 'Ok '

Karli says with a smirk, 'I'm about the same age you were when I tripped into the guild.'
Merlordd says 'Well..I was eighteen I believe'

Karli says 'We're rogues, we dun get old.'

Merlordd says 'When I joined... let's see'

Merlordd says 'Um.. '
Merlordd says 'Everyone used to be a Thief'
Merlordd says 'We were called the Thieves Guild'
Karli says 'We were still thieves when I arrived.'
Zefra says 'Me too.'
Merlordd nods towards Karli.
Merlordd gives a soft "Coo."
Karli says 'That was when we were going through the stupid thief vs. stupid rogues debates.'
Merlordd laughs happily.
Karli says 'And I was a dating a moron.'
Karli says 'But everyone got along anyway.'
Merlordd asks 'You weren't dating me?'
Merlordd laughs happily.
Karli smirks.
Karli says 'We had fun none the less. All of us. The roof was a mecha for interaction and everyone had fun. But times change and we make do and mend the rifts and start all over again.'
Merlordd says 'I myself prefer the Recall '
Merlordd points down
Karli says 'I've never been all that great in strange crowds. I'm a rogues rogue.'

Merlordd shrugs his shoulders at himself.
Merlordd says 'Used to be kinda different in the recall. There weren't any strangers. But that was long ago.'

Karli says 'Fighters use to bash me, mages used to look down on me and monks demanded ample amounts of bows and grovelling for heals. So I stuck to the roof where it was safe, and as you said, the faces were all familiar.'

Merlordd says 'Maybe it was just our ages then...'

Karli says 'Quite possibly,’ Karli nods. 'I was young and silly and just odd back then. I was too busy fighting for a place in the guild to battle with a place in society as well. A place that granted me respect and not cheap passes and sleazy come ons that is.'

Karli asks with a smirk. 'Do we really want to be young again..?'
Karli puts her Deadly poisoned golden sickle in her backpack and sits down.

Merlordd says 'Maybe not young again... Maybe make the realms young again,' he adds with a laugh.

Karli says 'I'd love that. Brotherhood is a foreign word now a days.'
Merlordd says with a sigh. 'Lots of things are'

Karli says 'Fun is an institution to most people. And we're having a party soon. Care to attend?' Karli flashes a bright smile.

Merlordd says 'Sure. What kinda party'

Karli says 'A beach party actually, but not JUST the beach. Was afraid to step on toes, but I wanna do up the Guide of Goldcroft so people have none sandy seats, if they so please.'

Merlordd nods.

Karli says 'There's a few rogues with aversions to water. So I didn't want to make them so uncomfortable they wouldn't attend.'

Merlordd asks 'Well..do you know what ship's anchor is along the sea wall?' Merlordd sits down.

Karli says 'My nautical knowledge is limited to be honest. Short of tales of elves and gold... And dragons.’

Merlordd says 'It's just an anchor down on that part of town'
Merlordd chuckles away.
Karli says 'Wait... the anchor you had me running around town for years past.'
Merlordd grins at Karli.
Karli says shuddering 'AND the carrot wine.'

Karli says 'Town wasn't something I had explored all that well.'
Merlordd says 'How about Imperitar'
Karli says 'You take for granted those things so easily at hand some days.'
Merlordd says 'Great dragon of the stars'
Karli says 'The name's unfamiliar to me.'
Karli exclaims 'Oh wait! The orb speaks of him in Star Point.'
Merlordd nods.

Karli says 'I used to spend a fair bit of time there. Wondering how I could be born under the sign I am. Just seems contradictory to me. The month sounds right, the sign sounds off.'

Merlordd says 'I am born under the sign of the dragon'
Zefra is born under the sign of the Determined, despite his lack of determination
Zefra says 'Woo, I'm thirty-five. Happy birthday to me.'
Karli says 'Never thought I'd live past twenty five.'
Merlordd grins at Karli.
Karli says 'The scrolls in the library and the orbs at start point...'
Merlordd says 'Kerit's Bane is Imperitar the Dragon..'
Merlordd says 'Kerit is the herder'
Merlordd says 'Thanos is the slayer of Imperitar'
Merlordd says 'Grendal is the Bowman..'
Karli says 'That's where I got confused'

Merlordd says 'Casius is the god that Jacob saved'

Karli says with a chuckle, 'Like I said, wrong sign. I would love to have been born under the determined. Determined I am.'

Merlordd says 'Saving the sisters. All the Seven Sisters. Guarding their realms'
Karli says 'These are all stories I'm not supposed to have forgotten.'
Karli says 'With all the elders having slipped off and Shaxul dead... I don't hear the stories anymore.'

Livewire pads in from the southeast on a dire wolf, a town guard's arm dangling from its mouth.

Livewire says 'Hi '
Livewire smiles and sits down.
Karli and Livewire exchange hugs.
Livewire says 'Hey boss'
Livewire nods at Merlordd and smiles.
