Stories And Tales

I write this scroll because many people wanted to know what happened to me. I had left and the reson why will be explained. But I thought I should put down what happened.....

I stood on the hillside overlooking the place I had called home. Moorgate. I had watched it grow, protected it, sworn my life to be it's Guardian. Now..now they choose thier new guardian. I let out a sigh. Maybe it is time for him to move on. I reached into my pack and drew out a scroll. It's a crude map of the surrounding area. I really should have paid more attention to Seal when he was mapping. I looked to the sky and looks at the stars for
direction. If I follow the blue one, I should reach the moors in a week. I can'
t believe I am leaving. I thought I would always be here..but if they do not need me, then I will go where they do. The worse thing is I failed Ica. He put his faith in me and I let him down. Some Elite guard I turned out to be. I began walking through Ashwood, heading northward.

Elsewhere, on the Immortal's plan, Flynn's actions and thoughts were being followed by another. A darker soul..Loki

Well well, so the great Ica's chosen one is giving up. Perfect! Time I made good on my promise. The demon God pulled at his beard and vanished into smoke.

I had set up camp for the night, eating some dried meat I prepared for the journey. With a slight sigh, I looked to the stars::

"Guess I didn't exactly make the difference you thought I would Father. I tried to be what you wanted for me to be. I tried to help and be brave and..well I lost sight of it." Suddenly, the ground began to shake "What the!"

I fell on my back as a crack opens. Green fumes bellowed up as Loki rose from the ground. I dove for the nearest tree branch to use as a weapon, but with one motion of his hand I was frozen in my tracks, trapped like some statue. The Dark God laughed

" So, the true one is now nothing more than the failure I knew him to be. Flynn is it? Oh well, your name doesn't matter. You was the one who dared to stand in my path. You struck me. You saved Feather's soul. Well..now that you are no longer under Ica's protection..your soul is now mine and I will torment it for eternity."

I struggled against the spell that Loki casted but to no avail. Loki approched slowly, savoring the victory. In his hand a flaming sword formed. The god rose his hand and brought down the sowrd..which was stopped in midstroke by a guantled hand. Ica stares into the demon's eyes.

"I think not! He is still under my protection "

With a heave, Ica threws Loki back..he rose snarling at the Combat Lord

"You are wrong Ica. He forsaken all. He gave up, thus by our laws he is mine to take."

Loki leaped at Ica, swinging and cutting into the armor. Ica created a scimitar of light from midair and the two began to fight. mighty wounds and stikes coming from both gods. Back and forth they fought with me still frozen to his place. This monumental battle shook the very earth. Both being Gods, niether could do mortal harm to the other.

'STOP!'

A bright blue light flashed, causing both combatant's weapons to vanish in midstrike, throwing them off balance. Both gods quickly regained thier poise and looked to the light. From it, a lovely woman steps out, the very aura of her presence tells who she is. Ica bowed while Loki spat at the ground in front of the woman.

"Greeting Kali." Ica stated. The Creator steped in between the pair

" What is this about?"

Loki sneared.

'He is trying to break the law of the gods by protecting one who forsaken him.'

Ica tried to push past Kali to get to Loki

"He may have forsaken but I won't let you have him."

Kali pushes both men back

'ENOUGH! You know the law..all disputes go before the council to judge.'

'Pardon but we know you also have a special liking of this particular mortal', Loki said with sarcasm. 'You should not judge.'

'Fine then, Justice will be the judge, do you agree?'

'Aye..this is just a formality for the law is the law.'

All three immortals, and myself shifted into another place. A tall, domed room. A horseshoe shaped tables sits in the center, seated about are the other various gods. Kali, Loki, and Ica takes their places and I remained in the center. I had realized that I could move, but I was awed by the beauty of the place..and the severity of the situation. A robed figure walked to the center seat of the table and sat.

'and I thought I knew all the immortals', I thought

'Flynn Truewalker..'

The voice came from all around, but it doesn't take much to know who was the one speaking.

'This is highly unusual. Why isn't this man's soul Loki's? You know the law creator.'

Kali turned to the hooded one. 'This is not an ordinary moral. This one has been a center focus of our land since his birth. Forces have been bent around him to be sure he lives. Without him, Loki would easily take over Moorgate, even Cosrin. This one stood against him. The mortal Flynn was selected by Ica to be his chossen.'

Loki slamed his fist on the table. 'And he forsaken all this! and by law, he is mine!'

'He may have given up..but we haven't.'. Ica removed his helm and looked straight at me. 'As disappointed as I am, his soul is still pure and to lose such would be a shame.'

That sure did hurt the heart hearing him say he was disappointed.

'then what do you propose?'

'A trial of his life. If he is deemed worth, he can return reborn. If not, then he is Loki's.'

Loki practicallied screamed in rage. 'No! The Law says'

The hooded one turned towards Loki. 'The Law does allow such a trial.'

Loki sat back in his seat, still angry.

'So..Let us view this one's beginning'

I knew I didn't move..but the room did. I still standing there as the room shimmered..we were in a cave now. In the corner is a lovely young woman, a youth is in the corner practicing swinging a sword way too large for him. And I knew exactly where we were..

'Mother...' I reached out but could not move.

'MOTHER!'

'they can not hear you Flynn. We are observing your past.'

'Do not make me watch this!'

'You must.'

A large man runs into the cave panting, orge feathures are visible in his build.

'We must run!' The man says. The woman looks up and the kid turns.

'What is it father?'

'They are coming, we need to get out'. Flynn's father moves inside to gather a few belongings.

'Wrong..we HAVE found you.'. A huge orge woman steps into the room surrounded by several guards. 'You traitor, tainting our great blood line with this human filth, and what worse..a bastard child! You know such a death sentence. Kill him..'

The guards rush him. 'Father' grabs on by the arm and slings him into the wall. Scooping down he picks up the two-handed sword and turns to meet the onslaugh. But it is not much of a battle. 'Mother' screams as one of the guards slices open 'father's' neck. He drops to his knees, then onto his stomach..his life flowing out into a puddle on the cave floor. She rushes forward but stops in midstep as an arrow pierces her chest. She falls atop his love.

The ogre queen turns to the kid, still holding that large sword, tears flowing down his face. 'what are you going to do bastard? You barely can hold that wepoan. No bother. Guards, with me, I'll leave him to the others." She walks out of the cave with the ogre guards, leaving three other ogres there eager of the kill advancing on the frightened young Flynn.

'Hold'

The events stopped. The hooded one, Justice, turned towards me. I could feel the wet of my own tears.'And what happened next inside'

I straightened. 'I lost it ok! I felt the Rage of the berserker and used it to kill those three.'

'See!' Loki stond up with glee. 'Even as a kid he was violent. Is this guy worthy of anything? Why don't we save the outlaws and murderers!'

'Quiet Loki.'

was it days? weeks? years...images swirled about the room..the day I became Guardian, me insulting some youth, me saving, me harming, every event in my life..then the day of the election results.

I was standing in the halls of the fighter's guild. Jihad, new newly elected guild leader was walking down the other halls with his followers.

'Tell us Flynn..how did you feel on this?'

'How did I feel? I tried to blow it off..hey, they selected thier path.'

'Flynn do not lie.'

I sighed looking at the events unfold. 'I was jealous, and hurt. Jihad and I never saw eye to eye cause he felt I was given special treatment. Anyone he saw as 'elite' he hated..now he comes and takes something I truely wanted. I wanted to lead the guild to glory, to make it better. But I lost to him.'

'Why did you lose to him with all these great deeds of yours?'

'becasue..because I was TOO good. I guess I saw my self above others. I've always been a leader in one way or other. I was a little hash when it came to the laws of the land. I could second guess all eternity..but came down to one thing....he charmed the people with words and actions. I just didn't.'

Loki leaned back and smirked 'So jealousy and hatred resided in your heart enought that you lost your faith in Ica, in the land, in everything.'

'Yes.'

'HA! And the Laws state that when a chosen loses his faith and renounces himself, that his soul is fair game.'

'Yes.' Justice rose. 'That is the law..but that does not make it yours. A vote shall be held..should this mortal return to the plane of life..or become Loki's to keep...

I looked about to each Immortal.. thumb up.. down.. down.. up.. up.. down.. down.. up.. down.. up.. up.. down.. and then last voter.. Valtera..

'So comes down to the witch..I'm doomed' I thought.

up..

'WHAT!' Loki leaped up and almost attacked the Magic Goddess. 'Why! He is Ica's chosen!'

'I have my own reasons for that one to return.. it furthers my plans.'

'I'lll get you for this sister'

'Try'

'SILENCE! The vote was decided. The mortal Flynn Truewalker will return to the mortal plane..without any skills or strength already earned. It will be as if he first stepped into the town..but his knowledge will remain, for that he will be able to redeam his errors. Flynn..remember..hatred will consume you..Kali and Ica are right..you are of the pure soul..do not walk the darkness...'

Well it was at that point that Loki spirited me away before the others could stop him. I am not going to tell you the details of the torment I went through..I don't think I could even describe them. Loki did finally let down his guard enough for me to escape. It was a tough fight..but as you can see, I made it to freedom. Loki, if you ever read this remember..I owe you greatly. To those I have been crude, rude, course to, well, I hope to make up for
past errors the best I can...

Signed.
